Day 2 Eco Camp
Starting the second day at the camp, our group visited a nearby stream on campus. We learned to take measurements and used formulas that ecological engineers use everyday.
We learned methods to measure erosion by the year, and how ecological engineers prevent erosion while keeping the stream velocity steady.
Dr Bill Hunt, professor of ecological engineering and environmental studies at NCSU explained the importance of surface area and depth of streams when measuring erosion.
Pretty Interesting to see how Ecological Engineers use many factors to determine the “perfect stream” for their environment.
